Every once in a while, I get to witness a bond so special that it radiates in every frame — this session with Maddie and Primo was exactly that. 💫 During another heartfelt mentoring session with Ashleigh Magnus Photography, we met up at the beautiful Blenheim Equisports in San Juan Capistrano, CA, a location known for its lush green arenas and stunning equestrian charm. It was the perfect setting for this bittersweet celebration of love, partnership, and the next chapter.
Maddie and Primo were a total dream team 💕. Their connection was undeniable, built on trust, hard work, and shared triumphs in and out of the ring. As we captured their quiet moments and gentle interactions, it was clear just how much they meant to each other. Primo, a seasoned and soulful partner, stood excitedly as Maddie wrapped her arms around him, whispered soft words, and smiled through a mix of joy and emotion. 🥹
This session was particularly emotional as Primo was on the verge of retirement — at the ripe old age of 11. Though young by many standards, his career had been full and meaningful, and it was time for him to take a well-deserved step back from the show ring. Capturing him in this moment, still proud and elegant, was truly special.
From posed portraits with show-stopping sunlight to candid moments of Maddie brushing his coat, kissing his nose, or simply walking alongside him with the quiet kind of peace that only horse girls know 🐎💖 — each image told a story.
